I got a kitten!
Oh, joyous day! We went to the farmers market in Millerville, and there where a whole bunch of different familes with kittens. My mom, sister, and myself just melted. They were all so adorable! Mom said we couldn't have one, and I very nearly cried. We went around the market, and it was pretty good, but I couldn't stop thinking about all the kittens. What would happen if they didn't find homes? So on the way out, we stopped and looked at them again. There were some little girls, with a big tub with about five or six kittens. Some were long hairs, and there were two identical ones with champaigne fur and blue eyes. The girls were selling them for five dollars, but the kittens were too young, and mom said if we were to get one, they needed to be a little bit older. She said we would look at the other ones, and see. There was a dog-carrier with them in it, but they had literally just come off weening. They were cute, but too tiny. Poe and Mousey would kill them in an instant. Finally we got to the family that were giving them away for free. When we came in, they were the first bunch we saw, and there were...four, I think. There were only two left. A black male, and a brown tabby female. I was holding the tabby, and Mom was asking the woman who owned them a few questions. She came over, and I handed the kitten to her. Mom adores cats. She says she's gonna be one of those women who have thirty cats when she's old, she loves them that much. She held the quivering little furry ball, looked at me, and said "Sold." I took her back, and told the woman and her teenage daughter we would take her. The woman was pleased. There was only one left, the black one, but I knew he would find a home.
The poor kitty (Meagan suggested the name Grace, and we all liked it) was petrified on the way home, sitting in my lap, twitching. She's a little timid, probably because she has been handled by people all day. I suppose lots of children pulled on their tails and ears. But she is sweet and small, and very cute. Poe and Mousey aren't too happy, but they'll get used to her. She's a tabby, like Poe, but Poe is black and gray. Grace is brownish gray with black. A white chin, and white around her eyes. Her chest and stomach are also white, striped with black. She has brown eyes. I love her to bits. She's sleeping under the couch at the moment.
Dude...I love her.
