I'M EIGHTEEN!
That's right, as of yesterday I became a fully fledged adult. I can buy liquor, porn, and cigarettes. If I want to.
It's awesome. I was hungover this morning but it went away. I drank sake and screwdrivers, and ate yummy sushi. And Dad and Sharon gave me a digital camera. Now Sebastian has a brother! Sebastian is my cell phone, by the way. I haven't christened the camera, but I will. I don't really want to go into all the details, because I don't actually remember some of them, but I just want to thank my mom for...you know...going through 26 hours of labour and taking all the pain out on dad. She hurled a bible at him, I think.
One thing that brought a tear to my eye was what my dad wrote in the birthday card (it was a funny card...) but he wrote something quite serious at the end.
"From the moment I saw you, I loved you. Happy birthday, Katie."
Awwwww...Dad.

Wants to know
What's keeping her from searching"

Last Day of my Childhood
And I am at home with a cold. It's not horrible, but it's not mild either. This morning, I figured, I could either stay home today, rest a bit, and feel better by tomorrow, or I could go out, make myself worse, and miss out on all the birthday fun that is scheduled for tomorrow. So here I am, in housecoat and slippers, kitten purring on my lap and blowing my noise every 2 minutes. Oh well.
I am turning 18 tomorrow. I am excited and a little bit nervous. Adulthood...young adult hood....I mean, what if there is some sort of ritual no one has told me about? What if tomorrow morning I wake up, wearing a white dress and covered in lamb's blood, chained to a cliffside over a stormy sea, being lashed at by the rain in some sort of obscure pagan ceremony that is kept a secret from us children, only to fail the test of endurance and be fed to a monster?!
Or perhaps just sushi with my dad. Huzzah!
And now I am going to have a shower and sit in the back garden for a while, contemplating the brilliant blue sky of my last day as a child.
Also, someone commented on my blog! Yayayayay, this brings me joy! Please, people, feel free to do so. Just don't spam, okay? Thanks.
Musical Quote of the Day
"I'm fifteen for a moment
Caught in between ten and twenty
And I'm just dreaming
Counting the ways to where you are
I'm twenty-two for a moment
She feels better than ever
And we're on fire
Making our way back from Mars
Fifteen there's still time for you
Time to buy and time to lose
Fifteen there's never a wish better than this
When you only got a hundred years to live"

Tired....
Too tired to talk really. Although I am considerably less angry than I was in my last post. Except now I have the hiccups. Fuck.
Goodnight everyone!
Musical Quote of the Day
"When your day is through
And so is your temper
You know what to do
I'm gonna always be there
Sometimes if I shout
It's not what's intended
These words just come out
With no crop to bear"
