Well Damn
Mom took Poe to the vet today instead of Thursday. Poe has a fatty liver. It's a disease that can occur in humans too, and mostly in the obese, so it's odd that Poe has it. What happens is somehow fatty deposits end up on the liver. When Poe went to eat, he would throw up. We did notice but we thought it was just hairballs. Anyway, eventually he stopped eating because he didn't want to be sick anymore. Of course, this makes him weak and the body consumes his own fat which ends up in his liver, making it worse. So now we have to force feed him a special food which hopefully will get his liver working again. He has jaundice, too...the inside of his mouth and his ears are all yellow, although the doctor said his eyes where okay, which means he isn't too far gone. Basically, he has two weeks. If he can keep the special food down and starts eating more and we don't have to force feed him, he'll be okay. If he throws up and shows no improvement, we have to take him back to the vet and...and see what he says. I'm optomistic...several years ago there wasn't really anything anyone could do about this and the cats would die...so hopefully Poe will come round. He kept down his two syringes worth of special food so far today. Come on, Poe...
In other news, my mother is being an absolute bitch tonight. I don't have a lot of hours over the next little while...I am going to ask Amanda for more, but Mom asked if I was working the weekend. I said no. She was in the next room, and I heard her mutter to Meagan as if I can't hear her, "She only works one day a week..." to which I angrily responded "I can't help it if I didn't get that many hours, I'm still trying to change that!" and she hopped on that old horse of "Get another job then!" FUCK, IT MAKES ME SO ANGRY! Then she keeps talking about how she's going to inspect my bathroom and if it's not clean I'm moving. I pay her rent, what does she care if my bathroom is clean or not? And, I'll have you know, it is clean. I have to empty the garbage, but that's it.
Too pissed for a Musical Quote of the Day. DEAL.
